June 2019. We are still in Manteo. We docked Lucky in the Manteo Harbor Marina and drove our
"new" Volvo to Norfolk's airport. It was time for Marina to fly for medical treatment. Kevin
hung out in Norfolk, in some AirBnb. On the way there we strolled along Virginia Beach and took the picture near
Neptune statue (like all tourists there). We liked the scenic drive from Virginia to Manteo via OBX.
There were many farmers stands with fresh ripe tomatoes, corn and other veggies.
In Manteo we moved back to the waterfront anchorage. And then, not very pleasant accident
happened.. The best spot for the anchoring was occupied by some deserted fender. That very much
bothered Kevin, because it would be the best place to anchore. On VHF Kevin consulted
with the doc master, Karl, if that's OK to get rid of that fender? Kevin got Karl's affirmative message:
"Yes, it's an illigal mooring there, clean it up".
Not much thinking about consequences,Kevin cut it off and we anchored in that same spot.
Next morning the guy who runs Jetpack rentals in Manteo demanded compensation stating
that he payed $120 to diver to install it.
